So, you’ve come to the perfect location if you’re seeking suggestions and ideas.

The 10 Best Movies and TV Shows to Watch This Weekend

1. The Witcher season 3 volume 1 (TV Shows)

The three main characters from The Witcher are now together, yet evil forces still exist that could separate them.

Every powerful entity on the continent wants to capture Ciri (Freya Allan), but Geralt hides her in the second-to-last appearance of Henry Cavill as the titular Witcher.

They are taken to the stronghold of Aretuza by Yennefer (Anya Chalotra), where they will be safe and she can continue Ciri’s magical training. But they eventually find themselves in a brew of betrayal, dark magic, and political corruption.

2. Jack Ryan season 4 (Prime Video)

Pour one out for Jack Ryan and all the dads who enjoy the Tom Clancy-based television series. However, John Krasinki’s portrayal of the spy hero will be much missed. They can get their Dad’s TV fix somewhere else.

Jack goes on his most hazardous mission yet as the season comes to a close. He cleared his name and is currently the CIA’s acting deputy director, responsible for finding internal corruption.

But when a terrorist group and a drug cartel make decisions that jeopardize international security, his time working behind a desk is over.

3. Hijack (Apple TV Plus)

Hijack follows the hijacking of a plane during a seven-hour trip from London to Dubai, more than two decades after 24 made waves as a “real-time” action drama. Idris Elba takes over as Sam Nelson, a corporate negotiator whose abilities are tested, in place of Kiefer Sutherland’s Jack Bauer.

Sam, like Jack, must work in a much smaller area because he is not a certified law enforcement officer. He must act fast to help diffuse the situation after robbers take over the cockpit.

Zahra Gahfoor (Archie Panjabi), a counterterrorism expert on the ground, races against time to figure out how to bring the passengers to safety.

4. The Other Two series finale (Max)

Sadly, one of the funniest sitcoms available on streaming services has ended. The season 3 finale also serves as the series conclusion because Max has canceled The Other Two.

Fans may find this sudden, but the show’s co-creators Chris Kelly and Sarah Schneider stated in the announcement that this is “where we wanted to end” the tales of the Dubek twins Brooke (Heléne Yorke) and Cary (Drew Tarver).

5. Silo season 1 finale (Apple TV Plus)

Silo surprised me as one of the best science fiction shows in recent memory, despite the fact that I haven’t read any of Hugh Howey’s Wool novels.

With its explosive ending that leaves as many unanswered questions as it does answers, Silo rapidly became my obsession (don’t worry, Apple has already purchased season 2).

Juliette (Rebecca Ferguson), inspired by George’s amazing “video,” is determined to share his message with others. However, Robert (Common) and Bernard (Tim Robbins) are not about to allow her to cause trouble.

6. Run Rabbit Run (TV Shows)

This Australian psychological thriller stars Sarah Snook from Succession as a fertility specialist whose young daughter Mia (Lily LaTorre) starts acting strangely. You are aware of what that implies in terms of horror films.

Mia requests that her mother refers to her as “Alice,” the name of Sarah’s sister who vanished when the two were little.

Additionally, the little child possesses memories that only Alice would be familiar with. Sarah must reevaluate her beliefs and face a ghost from the past as she tries to make sense of what is happening.

7. Book Club: The Next Chapter (Peacock)

Screen legends Diane Keaton, Jane Fonda, Candice Bergen, and Mary Steenburgen were given a wonderful, albeit slightly wicked, stage debut in the first Book Club.

There is a second one. The book club, which is traveling to Italy for a bachelorette party, is at least going somewhere unique.

However, things go wrong: Their luggage is taken, the ashes of a loved one who passed away are missing, and their automobile breaks down.

8. Nimona

Nimona’s behind-the-scenes adventure comes close to matching that of the title character, a shape-shifting heroine.

The film was scheduled to come from the company behind Ice Age, but when Disney acquired them in the Fox merger they got cold feet and shelved it, in part because of the story’s strong LGBTQ+ themes.

The film is based on an acclaimed all-ages graphic novel by ND Stevenson. But Annapurna Pictures came to the rescue. And we can now finally enjoy one of the best-animated films of the year on Netflix.

In a techno-medieval society, Nimona defends a knight who has been falsely convicted of committing a terrible crime.

9. Are You There God? It’s Me, Margaret

The coolest mother in this year’s already egregiously underestimated Are You There God is played by Rachel McAdams’ Barbara.

Therefore, My name is Margaret. Kelly Fremon Craig expertly captures Margaret’s transition to her pre-tweens in the film adaptation of Judy Blume’s adored book of the same name with humor, awkwardness, and a great heart.

It’s one of the year’s nicest comedies with excellent performances from Kathy Bates, Abby Ryder Fortson, and Benny Safdie.

10. The Righteous Gemstones

Viewers are introduced to the Gemstone family in the dark comedy. Who are no strangers to vice, greed, and—of course—charitable activity.

The program covers their illustrious televangelist traditions as well as their adversaries who seek to topple their hegemony.

Shea Whigham, Iliza Shlesinger, Stephen Dorff, Casey Wilson, Sturgill Simpson. And Luka Haas are among the new guest stars in season three.
