To apply for an original Nigerian Passport, please submit the following documents:

1. Original Nigerian Passport
2. Printed copy of the filled, dated, and signed Passport Application Form

For applicants under 18 years old, additional documents are required:

1. Copy of the Data Page of BOTH parents’ passports if both parents’ names are printed on the Long Birth Certificate. At least one parent must hold a Nigerian Passport.
2. Letter of consent signed by both parents. In the absence of documents or consent from either parent, proof of sole custody from the court must be provided.
3. In the event of the death of a Nigerian parent, a copy of the Death Certificate must be provided
4. Long Birth Certificate of the applicant

Name changes can only be processed due to Marriage or Divorce. For such cases, the following documents are necessary:

• Marriage Certificate;
• Consent Letter signed by the husband;
• Data page of the husband’s Passport;
• Applicant’s Valid Passport.

The Mission also facilitates name changes resulting from Divorce. The applicant is required to provide:

• Divorce Certificate;
• Proof of maiden name, e.g., Passport before marriage;
• Other valid ID Cards bearing the maiden name.

Additionally, include the following:

Copy of National Identification Number (NIN) (Ensure that your NIN matches the details on your passport accurately)

An administrative fee of £20.00 United Kingdom Postal Order is payable to the Nigeria High Commission, London. Please bring a stamped Royal Mail C4 special delivery envelope for the return of your passports, as there will be NO physical collection after the biometric process.
