The latter is alleged to have falsified her UTME results. According to Mmesoma, she scored 362 in the exams, which attracted applause and congratulations from the general public. She was even offered a scholarship from Innoson Vehicle Manufacturing Company.
However, the UTME authorities claimed that her result was false as they had declared Kamsiyochukwu Umeh, the student with the highest score. JAMB also stated that Mmesoma’s result template had not been used for two years. According to them, her actual result was 249.

The Anambra state government ordered an investigation into the claims, and it was proven that the 19-year-old student of Anglican Girls Secondary School indeed scored 248. JAMB has stated that Miss Mmesoma not only made a false claim but could also be part of a crime syndicate that engages in forgery of results.
Mmesoma and her family have officially tendered an apology to JAMB authorities, and Innoson has withdrawn the scholarship given to her. While this was a sad turn of events considering the goodwill she received earlier, it won’t be the first time a student has been accused of falsifying their results.
Since the inception of JAMB, there have been five cases of students accused of falsifying their JAMB results. It goes to show that there are students who would rather take the easy way out rather than work hard and study.
