Biography of Mildred Okwo
Mildred Okwo is a well-known film director in the Nollywood movie industry. She has won several awards and has also gotten nominations for several awards.
She got the nomination for the Best Director award at the 3rd Africa Movie Academy Awards. The Meeting a comedy-drama she directed in 2012 also won different awards. Some of them include the Nigeria Entertainment Awards, Africa Movie Academy Awards and Nollywood Movies Awards.
Mildred has made many great exploits in the movie industry and is still out to do more as she still has a long life in the movie industry.
Mildred Okwo was born in Lagos State in Nigeria on the 28th of April 1966. After obtaining both her First School Leaving Certificate and her West African Senior School Certificate, she went further to study Theater Arts at the University of Benin.
Later in life, she happened to study law at Whittier Law School, located at Orange County, California, USA.
She is now a Nigerian film Director and due to her movies with different movie awards. Some of the awards include the AMVCA, AMAA, NMA and Publix du prix at Nollywood Paris.
When she returned to Nigeria, she wrote, directed and co-produced a film titled 30 days. The movie featured many prominent film actors including Genevieve Nnaji, Rita Dominic, Kate Henshaw among others.
The movie “30 days” was released in the United States on the 30th of April 2006 and got not less than 10 nominations at the 2008 Africa Movie Academy Awards. It also got the Best Art Direction, Best Screen Play, Best Cinematography and Best Pictures.
