About Us

Federal College of Agriculture, Akure, Nigeria (fomerly School of Agriculture) was established on 10th January, 1957 by the then Government of Western Nigeria to train certified agricultural assistants and middle-level manpower in the area of agriculture.
At the end of a 2- year training programme, graduands were well equipped to supervise labour in plantations, assist researchers to manage fields and collect data or serve as field assistants in the extension system. There were jobs (white collar) then, and graduands need not venture into self employment to earn a decent living. At this time, the institution was awarding Certificate in General Agriculture and later Diploma in General Agriculture.

In 1972, the College was transferred to the University of Ife (now Obafemi Awolowo University) through the Institute of Agricultural Research and Training (I.A.R.&T) Ibadan for academic and administrative management.

It is important that you go the venue of your screening early and which usually holds in the morning. Your screening is very important and you should not spend time doing things that are unnecessarily which may contribute to your lateness.

It is often said that the early bird catches the worm. Those who will be coming for FECA  post utme are usually many and chances only favor those who turn up for the screening early  and they are often considered for admission before any other persons.  For those that will be coming from a far distance, it is advisable that you first travel and squat in the city where the screening is to be done.

I will tell you that dressing responsibly will not add any marks to your Jamb scores or your post utme scores but it will only increase your chances of being screened by your faculty officers.

In most Schools like the University of Uyo, If you are with long hair on your head, you may loose the chances of gaining admission.

  1.  Get all your credentials ready

Before you go about biting the bush looking for your credentials on your screening day, I will advise that you keep all your credentials ready for the screening and importantly, you can duplicate them by making photocopies of each.

When you are going for FECA  Screening, endeavor that you go with the originals of your credentials. Usually, the credentials to go with will include:

  • Original Jamb result
  • Post Utme result (if available)
  • Birth certificate/Afidafit
  • First school leaving certificate
  • Senior Secondary School certificate result

Others will include:

  • Letter of recommendation
  • Hiv/ Medical Status result
  • Proof/’letter of change of name if any

  1.  Make Sure you print original Jamb Result

This is very important in your Journey to admission. Many people don’t know what is Original Jamb result?

Simply put it that original Jamb result is what is accessible at the Jamb Portal through your Jamb profile. It is a result stating your aggregate scores as well as the breakdown of the result scored by each subject.

Note : Original Jamb result is not Jamb result notification the original Jamb result has your passport on it while Jamb result notification does not have your passport on it.

  1. Locate Your screening Venue early

This is very important for those of you who may be coming from a far distance. It is important that you locate your Screening Venue early and make sure you show at the venue when the time for the screening is  is due. If you are coming from a far distance, I will recommend that you make yourself available and get to know your screening venue at least a day before the screening day.

A tree cannot make a forest that is why you need to connect and interact with other friends from the same department who are coming for the same screening like you.

If you are a melancholic type, it time you break that melancholic nature for a while and interact with other persons who are for the same screening too.

These people will help you to be inform about the latest development in your deparment as well as other vital information that not be of your reach.

  1. Limit distractions

Distractions is one element of frustrations and disappointment. If you truly want to gget admission and be among the successfully screened candidates, it is important that you limit distractions.
